If you’ve ever pulled your hair out swimwear shopping before a holiday, you know you’ve struck gold when you find that bikini or swimsuit that is not only super flattering, but is so comfy you’d think you’re wearing nothing.
Which is exactly why Australian brand Matteau is fast becoming a firm favourite with fashion editors and celebrities (Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Georgia Fowler, Phoebe Tonkin and Camille Charriere are all fans) worldwide.
Sisters Ilona Hamer and Peta Heinsen started the brand back in 2002 when they couldn’t find a simple, classic black bikini anywhere, and from the beginning, their ethos was to offer minimal separates that you could easily mix and match.
Now they’re on their SS18 collection, which has launched on Net-A-Porter for the first time, and it’s pretty exciting: seriously, once you try them on, you won’t be able to go back.
This season, go for timeless with the black square swimsuit, or for a jazzier vibe, try the equally pretty printed triangle bikini.
