If you cringed at the street style shots of dad trainers paired with floral frocks at Fashion Week, and were offended by the use of trainers outside of the gym full stop, then I’m afraid to say you’re quite alone on that one.
Because it turns out that not only are they now a permanent fixture in the fashion world, but they’ve taken over Instagram too.
And in case you were wondering, there’s one particular style that’s been very popular on the ‘gram, and you might even own a pair: Adidas NMD.
According toe Forward2Me, it’s been tagged a whopping 5.7m times on the picture sharing platform.
In fact, Adidas is currently dominating hashtags, as the second most Instagrammable pair of trainers are the Adidas Yeezy 350, their collab with Kanye West.
Vans Old Skool are the third top choice of sneakers, while Adidas Superstarsare a solid fourth.

Rounding up the top five are another cult classic: the Converse Chuck Taylors, another firm favourite with the Fashion Week street style set.
But whilst you might think Adidas are winning at everything, here’s another fun fact for you: 53% of the world’s most Instagrammed trainers are Nike.
Time to get on board.
