SATC‘s Carrie Bradshaw may have made some questionable sartorial choices – that belt over her bare abs, the granny nightie paired with a zip-up sweatshirt, the Y-front pants – but one thing we can all agree on is her taste in handbags, which was of course impeccable.
One stand-out style was without a doubt the It bag of the early noughties: Dior‘s iconic saddle bag, which she owned in several colours, like this pink lock print version, which she wore when she visited Aidan’s furniture shop for the first time.
But Carrie wasn’t the only fan, IRL, the likes of Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan and Beyonce all adopted the clutch, casually slinging it over the shoulder of their velour Juicy tracksuit (well, this was the 2000s after all). We all aspired to own one.
And so it was about time Dior hear our prayers and brought it back.
The fashion house just made the announcement on Instagram, revealing, ‘A much-loved friend returns as the ‘Saddle’ bag finally arrives in our boutiques worldwide and on DIOR.com!’
For 2018, we have a new and improved version, courtesy of Artistic Director Maria Grazia Chiuri, who’s revamped it in a variety of materials and embroideries, such as the historical Dior Oblique canvas.
The Dior saddle bag is available to buy now. Your 2000s self will thank you.
