This is how much Meghan Markle loved her Suits wardrobe

And we get it!

Throughout her time on Suits, Meghan Markle’s character Rachel Zane was our go-to inspiration for stylish workwear. Who else could so effortlessly serve the off-the-shoulder look, or a head-to-toe neutral, while being the best in the firm?

And the inspiration behind these looks are all down to Suits accomplished costume designer, Jolie Andreatta. Speaking to Harpers Bazaar,  Andreatta revealed that her and Meghan both loved Rachel’s clothes. ‘We’d always say that, if we could, we would live in Rachel’s clothes. Designing Rachel’s look was like being a kid in a candy store.’

And in creating Rachel’s wardrobe,  Andreatta spoke about incorporating each characters personality into their looks.

‘Watching, listening and collaborating, along with constant treasure hunting and a little day dreaming’, she says, ‘I was able to come up with a work wardrobe for each of the characters that also allowed their personalities to shine through’.

And her styling continues to influence Markle, who has proven you don’t have to sacrifice your own personal style to look the part – whether that be a straight-talking paralegal, or the Dutchess of Sussex.

Meghan has since modernised (sometimes quite controversially) the royal dress code, with tailored trouser suits and off-the-shoulder blouses.

Her stunning Carolina Herrera dress, worn to the Trooping of the Colour in June was reminiscent of not only her fashion-forward character in Suits, but also had a hint of Princess Diana’s daring style.

Despite leaving Suits after her engagement, Meghan is keeping the character of Rachel alive. From form-fitting dresses, to timeless court shoes, she is still taking inspiration from Andreatta’s work.

And in classic Rachel style, Meghan loves to wear a monochromic look, such as the beautiful pale pink House of Nonie number that she wore to the The Nelson Mandela Centenary Exhibition in July.

Already a fashion icon, we can’t wait to see how Meghan’s style will keep evolving.
