her daughter stay in the spotlight. “I knew she was going to do that, because that’s the woman that she is. Just giving, heart so huge, holds so much love in her heart,” King told Seacrest. “And that’s what [my Beale Street character] Sharon was to me when
I read her on the page so I knew where to pull that from — from my mother and my grandmother.”

in Vice at the 2019 Academy Awards, and had her mom and two sisters accompany her to the show. “There’s not even words,” her mom, Kathryn Adams, said during a red carpet interview. “Amy is just amazing.”

Miranda proved that he’s a man of his word by bringing his mom, Dr. Luz Towns-Miranda, to the Oscars in 2017. The Hamilton creator, who was nominated for Best Original Song for “How Far I’ll Go” from Moana that night, told USA Today that when he was just 10 years old, he promised his mom that she would one day be his date to the Oscars.
Hedges got a big kiss on the cheek from his mom, Susan Titman, on the 89th Academy Awards red carpet. The actor brought his proud mom as his date to the show, where he was nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Manchester by the Sea.
The best actor nominee brought his sister Mandi Gosling as his date to the 2017 Oscars. While some expected his love, Eva Mendes, to be by his side, the La La Land star brought his older sister as his plus one instead.

The Slumdog Millionaire star was nominated for his role in Lion in 2017, and he celebrated his nomination by bringing his mom, Anita Patel, along as his date. The mom and son duo beamed as they walked the red carpet and posed for some adorable photos together.
The Captain America star has turned the Academy Awards into a family affair. Evans was joined by his sister Shanna as his date to the big show in 2016 and 2017, and had previously brought his mom, Lisa, to the awards show in 2013.

The Dallas Buyers Club star and Best Supporting Actor winner had the support of his mom Constance and older brother Shannon Leto at the 2014 Academy Awards. “In 1971, Bossier City, Louisiana, there was a teenage girl who was pregnant with her second child. She was a high school dropout and a single mom, but somehow she managed to make a better life for herself and her children. She encouraged her kids to be creative, to work hard and to do something special. That girl is my mother and she’s here tonight,” Leto said onstage. “And I just want to say, I love you, Mom. The Silver Linings Playbook star — nominated in the Best Actor in a Leading Role category — brought his Pennsylvania-based mother, Gloria, to the star-studded event. “He did a lot for the movie,” Gloria told E! News. “It’s very exciting. It’s my first Oscars!”

The Silver Linings Playbook star, who won the award for Best Actress in a Leading Role, celebrated her victory with parents Karen and Gary. “I felt like Steve Martin in Father of the Bride watching my house just be torn apart,” a Dior Haute Couture-clad Jennifer said of her pre-show prep. “My whole family was getting ready. . . It was kind of fun, but it was mostly chaotic.”
To the disappointment of supermodels everywhere, the Wolf of Wall Street star brought his mom, Irmelin Indenbirken, as his date to the 2014 Academy Awards. “She supported this little kid who said, ‘I want to be an actor,’ at 12 years old, which is ridiculous, and she drove me to all these auditions,” DiCaprio told Access Hollywood January 2014. “She’s the only reason I’m able to do what I do.”
Before she performed “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going,” the Dreamgirls star posed for pictures with her older sister, Julia. “Oh what a night!” Jennifer wrote in an Instagram caption.
The Gucci-clad Avengers actor asked his Massachusetts-based mother, Lisa, to be his date. “She’s so excited,” Evans said of his mom. “It’s nice to remember how exciting and fun this stuff can be. Being with her brings all that back.”

“She’s flirting with Bradley [Cooper], Channing [Tatum], and everybody. It’s kind of a disaster!” the Wolf of Wall Street actor joked about his mom, Sharon Lyn, to ABC on the Oscars 2014 carpet. “He’s so cute!” Sharon quipped.”
The Beasts of the Southern Wild star, who lost Best Actress in a Leading Role to Silver Linings Plabybook‘s Jennifer Lawrence, was accompanied by her mother, Qulyndreia. When asked what she carries in her puppy purse, Quvenzhane replied, “I don’t know, probably just some lipstick.”
The actress, who presented the 2014 Oscars’ special tribute to the Wizard of Oz, attended the show with her daughter, Alex Martin. The mother-daughter duo held hands on the red carpet while posing for photographers.
Though The Master star lost the award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role, he spent the evening laughing with his 9-year-old son, Cooper.
