Kamala Harris Wore a Liquid Sequin Cocktail Dress by Yet Another Emerging Black Designer

After wearing a gorgeous purple Christopher John Rogers outfit to the inauguration, Vice President Kamala Harris attended the Celebrating America TV special wearing a chic black ensemble by another emerging Black designer. For the event, Kamala opted for a tuxedo coat and shimmery sequined dress by designer Sergio Hudson. In fact, former first lady Michelle Obama wore a plum outfit by the same designer during the inauguration earlier that afternoon. Kamala dazzled in the floor-length silk tuxedo coat and cocktail dress, and she added an 18k yellow gold and diamond David Yurman American flag lapel pin. She also accessorized with rings and earrings by Irene Neuwirth, as well as black Jimmy Choo Rory pumps. Sergio told Harper's Bazaar, "We want to be uplifted right now . . . We kept the s...

Who Is Kamala Harris’ Stepdaughter Ella Emhoff? 6 Things to Know

Stealing the show! Ella Emhoff turned heads with her style at the 2021 Inauguration of President Joe Biden and her stepmother, Vice President Kamala Harris, earlier this month. The Parsons School of Design student, 21, made headlines for her Miu Miu plaid, bedazzled coat and Batsheva maroon dress that she wore while attending the Washington, D.C. event on Wednesday, January 20. She attended alongside her father, Doug Emhoff, and brother, Cole Emhoff, in support of Harris, 56. Doug, also 56, who has been married to the former senator since 2014, shares his two children with ex-wife Kerstin Emhoff. While most of America was focused on the swearing-in ceremony and the musical performances from Lady Gaga and Jennifer Lopez, many noticed Ella and her fashionable outfit choice. “My mood board...

The world watched as the new leaders promised a better future for all Americans, with a beautiful reading by National Youth Poet Laureate Amanda Gorman and performances from Lady Gaga – who wore a much-talked about brooch and had an awkward interaction with former VP Mike Pence – and Jennifer Lopez, who went viral for her reference to Let’s Get Loud. As well celebrating the importance of this new era, people were also obsessed with the outfits worn by Vice President Kamala Harris and former First Ladies, Michelle Obama and Hillary ...

Meena Harris Wore Bedazzled Boots to the 2021 Presidential Inauguration, and We're Here For It

We expected Kamala Harris's niece, Meena Harris, to bring her style A game for the 2021 presidential inauguration in Washington DC, and we were correct. Meena already posted an outfit wearing a chic white coat with tall boots from Marion Parke on Jan. 19, and on Jan. 20, Meena attended the historic event to support her aunt, who will become the first woman vice president, wearing a green dress by Ulla Johnson. She styled a metallic green ruffled dress with a matching coat. Her Coach coat looked ultra cozy with its green shearling lining. Meena accessorized her look with a black face mask that had silver stars on it and jewels by Ana Khouri and Temple St. Clair. The best part of her outfit? Her boots. In an Instagram post which she captioned, "WE IN HERE AMERICA," Meena showed off a pai...

The Important Reason Kamala Harris, Michelle Obama, and Hillary Clinton All Wore Purple

If you're wondering whether there's significance behind Vice President Kamala Harris, former First Lady Michelle Obama, and former First Lady and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton all wearing purple during the presidential inauguration, there most certainly is. (Even Senator Elizabeth Warren decided to wear a purple scarf for the historic event!) So, why purple? It's because the color represents bipartisanship and the country coming together. It's a combination of red (representing the Republican Party) and blue (representing the Democratic Party) to create purple. In case you weren't aware, swing states are also often called "purple" states. Another reason is that purple is the color of the suffragist movement. Harris actually choose the color white to deliver her victory speech back...
