Yara Shahidi's Dior Outfit Is the Most Fun I've Ever Had Watching a Red Carpet

Yara Shahidi, presenter at the 2021 Critics' Choice Awards, worked with longtime stylist Jason Bolden on her evening's look. The duo settled on a playful Dior Haute Couture ensemble from the spring/summer 2021 collection consisting of an embroidered top and tulle, satin decorated skirt, styled with neutral pumps and fun dangling earrings. Yara's bishop sleeves, which honestly tell a story in and of themselves, made for quite the photo shoot with movement when she posed for the talented Kai Byrd ahead of the show. It's no secret we're all excited to watch as Hollywood stars experiment with fashion during virtual award season, and Yara and Jason definitely didn't disappoint when it came to this red carpet. I've Never Regretted Buying Any of These 7 Dresses

"What a surprise—she's wearing another dress," say people who are probably fed up with following me on Instagram. If, however, you haven't muted me and my ridiculously expansive collection of dresses, maybe it's because you share the same shopping passion. Which means you might enjoy this story, as it's dedicated to the places where I buy my favourite ones from.I'm talking, of course, about the brands I have confidence in going back to time and again for both the special-occasion dresses but also the day-to-day ones I like to wear to the office. If there's one item I know I can feel myself in, it's a relatively modest, long-sleeved, probably bright or printed midi, and there are now labels that really specialise in that kind of easy, do-it-all dress. On Hannah: Ghost dress. I'm willing t...

Of the 38 Mascaras I've Tested, These Are the Only Ones I'd Recommend

Disclaimer: I rarely wear mascara. On a night out (remember those?), I'll slap it on, but as a serial "face toucher" (something I got seriously told off about when a skin expert came to give our routines an overhaul), wearing mascara on the daily is just a recipe for panda eyes.On a normal day, you'll find me with a full face of makeup sans lashes. And it seems I'm not the only one. While mascara remains the holy-grail beauty product for many, cool girls and makeup artists have often ditch mascara and opt instead for a combination of bare lashes and a bold lip, which I love. However, after testing out all of the concealers on the market to bring you a guide to the best ones, I wanted to turn my attention to another beauty staple, and I reckon mascara is a good place to start. I have to s...

I've Tested Over 25 Masks, and This One From Uniqlo Is the Clear Winner

Admittedly, I've accumulated more masks over the past few months than I wear, but I've done my due diligence to find the style that works for me. It was no easy feat considering the myriad of options out there, available in all prints and colors, and with features like filter pockets and nose wires. I have small ears and used to struggle to keep masks in place, so the right one had to sit snuggly without requiring constant adjusting. Some fabrics can cause skin irritation, so this was a big consideration when vetting options. I spent the better part of last year testing several types, and almost a year into the pandemic, Uniqlo's Airism Face Mask ($15 for three) has emerged as the clear winner. The fit and the fabric are the first things that stood out to me. I can spend long periods o...

All I Can Think About Is Summer—So I've Found 13 Outfits I Love

I don't know about you, but the announcement this week about the road map for easing restrictions has meant that all I can think about is summer. If like me you're dreaming of afternoons in beer gardens and summer parties with friends, then you might already be searching for the perfect summer outfits for our return to socialising. I for one bought a pair of sandals and a summer cotton dress within hours of the proposal for a restriction-free summer come July. Sometimes, summer outfits need to be straightforward and simple to assemble, with just a flourish of a key accessory or subtle injection of a new styling move, and sometimes—because the UK's climate is so unpredictable—the layering and construction will be more demanding. (We've supplied the more advanced levels, of course.)So wit...

She was a star in 2018’s Love Island; makes her living via Instagram (1.5m followers and counting); and has a boyfriend who’s in the public eye too – Made In Chelsea’s Sam Thompson. But for many people, her name rings a bell for an entirely different reason – they’ve seen intimate photos of her. All The Outfits I've Loved This Week From Copenhagen's Fashion Week

Over the last few years, Copenhagen Fashion Week has become one of the most anticipated events on the fashion calendar. From Ganni to Cecilie Bahnsen and Baum und Pferdgarten, the city is home to some of the most coveted up-and-coming cult labels and is renowned for its adventurous and enviable street style. As with most things in 2021, this year the event has gone completely digital, though that does not mean that 'street' style has taken a back seat. From Emili Sindled to Maria Bernad, influencers in both Copenhagen and beyond have donned their Scandi best to take a virtual front-row seat as brands unveil their latest collections online.Baum und Pferdgarten hosted a lockdown show, asking influencers across the globe to model a select look from their latest collection. I've Tried Basically Every Glossier Product—This Is What I Really Think

If there’s one beauty brand that gets the millennial heart beating like no other it has to be Glossier. Uniting product obsessives, fashion girls and beauty editors alike with its charm, Glossier was an instant hit with the Instagram generation when it launched back in 2014. (Remember, back when the beauty hashtag was a landscape of HD brows and contour?) Today, the beauty startup is valued at over $1 billion—not bad for a business that launched just over six years ago—and I can guarantee that you’ll spot at least one Glossier product in the makeup bag of every cool girl you know.Of course, much of the brand’s success is down to founder Emily Weiss's digital-first approach to both product development and brand marketing. Weiss has been able to harness the online community that she'd cre...

I've Found the Best Skincare Products for Women of Colour

There's no questioning the exponential growth of the skincare industry over the last decade. As editors, we see this shift in action every morning when we open our inboxes to find an utterly oppressive flurry of pitches touting the latest celeb-backed product lines, but even a quick scroll of your Instagram feed these days will turn up just as many images of face mask–clad influencers as expertly art-directed outfit pics. Skin is most definitely in, and participating in skincare now means you need near-encyclopedic knowledge of acids, vitamins, and oils. In the midst of all this growth, information, and innovation, there's still a lot of confusion surrounding the specific skincare needs of women with higher levels of melanin in their skin. This is due in large part to vague and often in...
