The 2021 Met Gala was packed with celebrities making impassioned fashion statements and YouTuber NikkieTutorials, aka Nikkie de Jager, took the opportunity to pay tribute to one of the most iconic figures in LGBTQ+ history: transgender activist Marsha P. Johnson. Nikkie's turquoise tulle gown, courtesy of Edwin Oudshoorn Couture, was embellished with pink, red, and yellow flowers that beautifully matched her golden headpieces brimming with handmade silk flowers, a nod to Marsha's signature flower crown. I have to admit, I don't look to celebrities all that often for style guidance. Despite the fact that I love poring over red carpet pictures and I'll be endlessly enthralled and delighted by what avant garde A listers choose to wear for a casual date night (Rihanna, I'm talking about you), in general, I just don't connect with the über-luxury and perfectly styled finish you'll get from most famous women in the spotlight. However, one actress that does always pique my interest is Dakota Johnson.
